Three steps to a finished kit

1

Upload a photo

Any JPG, PNG or GIF. Or start from a built-in template.

2

Tune the board

Pick a pegboard size, sampling quality and the colors you own.

3

Print & build

Get a gridded chart, exact color codes and a per-color bead count.

Built sharper than the old tools

Most bead generators just average pixels and snap to RGB. The details below are why patterns here look clean.

Dominant-color sampling

Each cell takes its strongest color, not a muddy average — edges stay crisp on logos and pixel art.

True-to-eye color match

Colors are matched in CIE Lab space with Delta-E, so the bead chosen is the one your eye would pick.

Floyd–Steinberg dithering

Optional error diffusion turns photo gradients (skies, skin) into smooth bead blends.

Smart background removal

A flood fill strips a connected backdrop while keeping same-colored detail inside the subject.

Use only beads you own

Switch off missing colors and the whole pattern re-maps to what is actually in your tub.

Bead count + shopping list

Per-color counts and quick buy links so you order the right beads once.

Questions

Is the Perler bead pattern maker free?

Yes. Uploading a photo, generating the pattern, viewing the color list and printing are all free with no account.

Do you upload my photos?

No. All image processing runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.

Which beads are supported?

The launch palette is the standard Perler 5mm range. The engine is brand-agnostic, so Hama, Artkal and other palettes can be added as drop-in color sets.

Can I use only the bead colors I already own?

Yes. Open "Colors I own" and switch off any colors you do not have. The pattern is re-mapped to your available beads.
